To quote a line from Jimmy Buffett, “The weather is here, I wish you were beautiful…”. As confusing as this lyric is, it is not as confusing as the weather has been this year. Having lived in the Bay Area for 40 of my 42 years, I’ve never experienced a winter like we had in 2009/2010. The coldest I have EVER experienced. This past winter being one of the most mild that I can remember while the rest of the country is blanketed in snow. The last few months of this year have been just as unusual. To have temperatures in the 60’s in mid May is unheard of!
Then I look at the rest of the world, especially the United States and see devastating tornadoes and floods with unspeakable death tolls. (Pray for those people and their families!)
Well…hurricane season will be upon us in one week. I wonder what it holds in store for us Floridians. To quote another Jimmy Buffett lyric… “Squalls out on the Gulf Stream….big storm’s coming soon…”
